Description
Rustic Italian ring cookies from L'Aquila, in the heart of Abruzzo, made with Italian flour, butter, fresh eggs and plump raisins. Slightly crisp outside, tender inside and just sweet enough: the kind of cookie Italian families keep in the pantry for breakfast and afternoon breaks.
How Italians enjoy them. Dipped in caffè latte in the morning, with tea in the afternoon, or packed in a lunchbox. Kids love them.
Perfectly imperfect. Every ciambellina is shaped by hand, so no two rings are the same and the raisins fall a little differently in each one. What never changes is the weight: every box holds at least 220 g, and usually a little more.
Like all real baked goods, they have a naturally short shelf life, which is why we bring them in fresh batches.

I just bought some and they are probably some of the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. It’s wonderful to have a cookie that’s made with just simple ingredients. I am unable to eat enriched flour, which makes finding things in the United States, unless I make them from scratch, difficult because most bakeries use regular enriched flour because  organic is expensive. I love finding imported Italian things because I know I can eat them.
