The Dolci Aveja family has made them for generations in Abruzzo. Now, for the first time, they are available in the United States.

What to expect. A delicate, lightly crisp shell dusted with powdered sugar, a soft almond center and, at its heart, a whole amarena: deep, dark and gently tart, one of the most prized fruits of Italian pastry.

100% handmade. Every heart is shaped and filled by hand, so no two look the same. Made with almonds, egg whites and sugar, they are naturally gluten free.

What is amarena?

Amarena is a dark Italian cherry, deep in flavor and gently tart, treasured in Italian pastry for generations. Each Cuore holds a whole one at its heart.

Are they gluten free?

Yes. They are made with almonds, egg whites, sugar and amarena, with no wheat flour. Please see the full ingredients and allergen details in the Ingredients tab.

How many are in a box?

Is it a limited edition?

Yes. Cuori di Amarena are a limited Christmas edition, available while supplies last.

Ingredients

Almonds, sugar, amarena cherries in syrup (cherries, glucose syrup, sugar, cherry juice (4%), colorings (black carrot and hibiscus concentrates), citric acid, flavorings, sulfur dioxide (as residue)), egg whites, invert sugar, potassium sorbate, powdered sugar (corn starch 3%). Contains: almond, egg. Produced in a facility that also uses wheat, eggs, dairy, sesame, mustard, lupins, soy and a variety of tree nuts.
