In Tuscany they are called cantucci, in America biscotti. In Abruzzo, where these are made, they are tozzetti: crunchy, twice-baked Italian almond cookies with 22% dry-roasted Italian almonds.
What to expect. A rich almond flavor, a crumbly crunch and just enough sweetness. No glazes, no chocolate chips, no dried fruit: the traditional Italian way. They are made for dipping in espresso, cappuccino or tea, or for ending a dinner the Italian way, with a small glass of dessert wine.
Perfectly imperfect. Every tozzetto is cut by hand, so some are bigger and some smaller, each with its own pattern of almonds. The weight is always guaranteed: at least 200 g (7.05 oz) per box. Like all real baked goods, they have a naturally short shelf life.
